I am Mariana Pease and, having brought up four children, and worked in the education sector for 10 years, I decided I wanted to do something completely different which didn't involve staring at a computer screen all day! I've always loved gorgeous-smelling soaps and bath products but over time and through my own experience,  I came to realise that many products contain artificial ingredients that dry out the skin. I launched MARIANA London in July 2019 making skin and bathroom products, in small batches, from the finest natural, skin-nourishing ingredients in my studio in beautiful rural Hampshire.

My luxury artisan soap, bath oil, body butter, reed diffusers and other bathroom gifts are handmade from simple, natural ingredients and are wrapped in beautiful plastic free packaging which is also, where possible, recycled, recyclable, bio-degradable and compostable.

The bath oils, soaps, hand lotions and diffusers are all infused with pure essential oils designed to lift the spirits and refresh the senses (essential oils are concentrated liquids extracted from plants, flowers, leaves, bark, roots or peels either by distillation or cold pressing).

How the Company has Grown

I started MARIANA London by making three different soap fragrances - Rose Geranium and Bergamot, Lavender and May Chang and Lemongrass and Peppermint. Over the years the number of products and fragrances I make have greatly expanded. In 2025  I successfully collaborated with ASK CHARLIE to make our Nourishing Body Oil  and with Manuka Direct to produce Manuka Honey and Sweet Orange Soap, which is the seventh soap fragrance I have launched.

I sell my products, not only online, but at dozens of fairs which I attend each year, especially in the run up to Christmas. Latest news on new products and the fairs I am attending are announced on MARIANA London Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.

To comply with UK Cosmetics Regulations MARIANA London has to:

· have a safety assessment performed by a qualified chemist for each product;

· keep a Product Information File for every batch made;

· have a designated Responsible Person who is the legally accountable individual for a cosmetic product placed on the UK market, which is me;

· Notify products to the UK Cosmetic Product Notification Board;

· Label each product in accordance with legal requirements using INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) terminology.

For Charity

MARIANA London is proud to donate 10p from every item sold to Streets of London (registered charity number 1155242) which is a wonderful charity, set up by my cousin, Ian Steuart Fothringham, in 2014 and makes a real difference to the lives of homeless people in London - www.streetsoflondon.org.uk In 2025 just under £400 was donated to the charity.

Running MARIANA London and producing the soaps and other products I make by hand is an incredibly joyful experience which I enjoy immensely. I love receiving feedback and am always delighted to hear how much better someone’s skin feels after using my products.
